How to Add Precious Metals to Your Portfolio

Adding precious metals is currently done via manual entry. Both individual purchases and purchases as part of savings plans can be recorded. Parqet subscribers can create an unlimited number of precious metal holdings. For basic users, the asset limit of 5 applies (cash, crypto, and precious metals).

Example: Buying a Gold Bar

Let's say you bought a gold bar of 100 g for 7,730.99 EUR. Here's how you can record it in Parqet:

1. Click "Add Activities" at the bottom right of the dashboard and select "Manual".
2. Select "New Precious Metal Holding".
3. Select "Gold" as the precious metal.
4. Enter weight (100g) and purity (999). The purity is specified here in parts per thousand. (So in this example 99.9%)
5. Record the transaction with date, price (7,730.99 EUR), and quantity (1).

Example: Gold as a Savings Plan

For savings plan purchases, proceed similarly:

1. Create a new precious metal holding (e.g., 1 oz gold coin)
2. Then record the regular savings plan purchases as individual transactions

Tip: For savings plan purchases, we recommend entering the actual amount paid and the quantity acquired correctly. Parqet will then automatically calculate the price per unit.

Filter for Precious Metals

In addition to securities and cash, you can now also sort by precious metals in the dashboard and on all other pages where there are asset filters.
